This series of paintings are part of my March 2022 circles around the sun collection.
The imagery and new soft tonal pastel landscapes come from an extended moment in recent time where I was woken, in the early hours, by a most powerful light floating outside in the nights sky, pulsating at my window, a light unknown requiring my full presence and attention. I remember my curiosity and wonder at how incredibly low this light, star, orb of otherness was balancing and hovering somewhere between.
Parallel in this light time my husband was fighting literally for his life, his heart had stopped beating . I believe the combination of many elements, his will and something within this light brought his heart back to a new beat.
This large scale painting is about that most beautiful and profound moment where life stood still.
Capturing a moment between this life and the next bathed inside a new light.
